How it works for furniture and appliance stores
Shoppers can buy furniture with crypto at your store once you're set up. We handle the setup, and you get paid in US dollars. Your rates and fees are set by the processor, and we will walk you through every step, from the application to your first live sale and staff training.
Furniture and appliance purchases span a wide range, so routing by ticket size matters. Sales under $5,000 usually fit Flexa's 1% flat fee on an iPhone or iPad (Flexa). Larger room or kitchen packages go to BitPay at 2% + $0.25, with next-business-day USD settlement and locked invoice rates (BitPay).
Be realistic about fees. BitPay's 2% + $0.25 isn't always much cheaper than card processing, so we compare against your own statement rate instead of promising savings. The reasons stores add crypto are reaching customers who hold it and BitPay's chargeback protection on large orders.
How many customers? Surveys differ: Gallup found 9% of U.S. adults currently own crypto (June 2026), while Pew found 19% have ever used it (January 2026) (Gallup, Pew). Signage helps customers know to ask. Related: contractors, boutiques and our guide.
Which processor you'll use
We route by your average ticket: under $5,000 goes to Flexa (1% flat, iPhone/iPad app) and $5,000 and up goes to BitPay (2% + $0.25, next-business-day USD settlement).
Flexa: everyday tickets
- 1% flat fee, with no setup or conversion fees (Flexa)
- Flexa Point of Sale app on any iPhone or iPad (Flexa docs)
- For small and mid-size tickets, under $5,000
BitPay: big tickets
- 2% + $0.25 per transaction under $500K/month (BitPay pricing)
- US dollars to your bank the next business day, locked exchange rates, and no chargebacks as a BitPay feature (BitPay)
- For tickets of $5,000 and up
Processor fees are set by BitPay and Flexa and can change. Crypto fees are not always lower than card fees, so we compare against your own statement rate. Processors approve or decline merchants, not us.
